Art therapy is an integrative mental health and human services profession that enriches the lives of individuals, families, and communities through active artmaking. Art therapy is also used to improve cognitive and sensorimotor functions, foster self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivate emotional resilience, promote insight, enhance social skills, reduce and resolve conflicts and distress, and advance societal and ecological change.
Art can be used to enhance the quality of the workplace for individuals as well as teams of professionals, including utilizing art in the workplace as a means of motivation and inspiration. Taking time to doodle, color, or create images can reduce stress, promote relaxation, and help solve problems.
